AUA congratulates this year’s graduates who have successfully secured U.S. and Canadian residency positions.

Positions are a primarily secured through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Additional positions are acquired through the Canadian Resident Matching Service (CaRMS), individual pre-match agreements, and the Scramble.

NRMP Facts for 2010

  • The 2010 Main Residency Match was the largest in NRMP history, 30,543 applicants participated—655 more than last year and 3,800 more than in 2006.
  • This year, 10,941 students and graduates of international medical schools (IMGs) participated in the Match, 67 more than last year.
