Athletics and Recreation
Studying is crucial to your success as a medical student, but maintaining a healthy work life balance is essential to your success as a physician. That’s why American University of Antigua (AUA) College of Medicine has athletic fields and recreational facilities available to give our students the break they need. Whether it’s team sports or working out, find a way to play.
Athletic fields are ready for soccer, beach volleyball, flag football, cricket, ultimate frisbee, and other sports. Tennis and basketball courts provide an outlet for your competitive spirit. The International Cricket Association has approved AUA’s cricket field for practice matches.
AUA’s selection of athletic fields gives every student the opportunity to stay fit and interact with one another by engaging in a variety of recreational activities.
Your body’s health affects your mind’s health. Whether to take the edge off or to hone it again, AUA provides a fitness center fully equipped with treadmills, exercise machines, yoga mats, and weights. There are showers and changing rooms available as well. Access is free for all AUA students.
This mile-long, white-sand beach provides respite from the challenge of your studies. A short walk from campus, Jabberwock Beach offers a secluded haven to study or play.
