American University of Antigua College of Medicine’s MD program was granted accreditation for another four years (2018–2022) by the Caribbean Accreditation Authority for Education In Medicine and Other Health Professions (CAAM-HP). CAAM-HP is the legally constituted body established to accredit medical, dental, veterinary, and other health professions programs leading to professional degrees required for practice in Caribbean Community (CARICOM) member states.
Gaining accreditation by CAAM-HP involved a demanding review process that assessed every facet of AUA’s medical program. This accreditation is exclusive to medical schools that meet or exceed the highest industry standards.
In their report, the visiting team commends AUA for:
the caliber, enthusiasm, and diversity of AUA’s students and their performance on USMLE examination
its physical facilities and educational resources
the highly motivated and dedicated faculty and administration
