Articulation Agreements with AICASA & Bridge to MD

AUA has more opportunities for you to prepare for medical school than many other institutions through articulation agreements with American International College of Arts and Sciences – Antigua (AICASA) and the Bridge to MD program. AICASA gives high school graduates the opportunity to begin their medical education right after graduating. The Bridge to MD program offers applicants the opportunity to strengthen their chances of being accepted to and succeeding in medical school by improving study skills and participating in a rigorous science curriculum. Qualified students who successfully complete these programs are guaranteed admission into AUA, one of the top Caribbean medical schools.

Take all Core Clinical Clerkships in one location – FIU

Although other Caribbean medical schools have their clinical students complete core rotations in hospitals throughout the U.S., AUA offers qualified students the opportunity to complete all their core clerkships at Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine at Florida International University. This allows students to really invest themselves in a single hospital environment and build a network of professional contacts. The program also provides students with a transcript from FIU, which, in addition to an AUA MD degree, distinguishes residency applications.

Our Close Community

AUA has fostered a close academic community on campus. Professors offer extended office hours to discuss the complex material taught in their courses and the Education Department has TAs who optimize student study skills to retain that knowledge. There are dozens of clubs on campus, including an AMSA chapter that hosts health fairs every year. Even after they graduate, AUA alumni take time off from their busy residency schedules to speak with prospective students interested in applying to the College of Medicine.
