AUA is proud to be the only Caribbean medical school and one of the few North American medical schools which offers a longitudinal track in global medicine from semester one, and highly recommends students take advantage of these international learning opportunities.

Students in this track participate in the FIU clinical core rotation certificate program, and have a large variety of global health specific and international elective rotations to choose from. These opportunities are available to all AUA students, not limited to students only in the Global MD program.

AUA has established international rotations in all specialties through Manipal University at various locations in India and Nepal, at King Edward Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, and Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad. Travel stipends are available for all of these rotations.

In addition, AUA has secured elective rotations in family medicine with Lakeside Healthcare, one of the largest family medicine providers in the UK and a clinical training site for two British medical universities.

AUA, which is a member of the Consortium of Universities for Global Health, has also become a member of the ECFMG GEMx initiative, that allows our students to attend elective rotations at esteemed medical schools around the globe.

Those interested in participating in the FIU core rotation certificate program, any elective rotations at FIU, or international rotations, can find additional information on Blackboard and should contact their clinical coordinator.
