Antigua-American University of Antigua (AUA) College of Medicine has been awarded the distinguishing inclusion on the Texas Medical Board’s Substantial Equivalence List. This recognition is a significant accomplishment for AUA and will allow our graduates a streamlined process to obtain a medical license and practice in the state of Texas. It will also provide AUA the opportunity to explore rotations throughout the state of Texas in the future.

The Substantial Equivalent list identifies medical schools whose graduates the TMB deems to have met their standards for medical education, meaning they don’t need to provide extensive additional documentation during the licensing process. Schools that are not on this list face a more rigorous evaluation of their medical education. Any AUA student who graduated after December 31st, 2017 will be grandfathered into eligibility.
