The first annual Women’s Health Day took place at American University of Antigua (AUA) College of Medicine’s campus on Oct. 5 between 8AM and 12PM.

AUA students and faculty screened approximately 300 people. Patients were provided with free HIV screenings, glucose & cholesterol tests, nutrition advice, and ocular pressure exams. The fair was made possible by Antiguan community organizations, including the Medical Association, AIDS Secretariat, the Diabetes Association, Breast Friends, and the Glaucoma Association.

AUA hosts numerous health fairs annually to better the public health of Antigua.  AUA’s AMSA chapter hosts an annual health fair that will take place next month.
