In April 2013, American University of Antigua (AUA) College of Medicine facilitated workshops and small group activities at Antigua Girls High School (AGHS) for their Second Annual Girls’ Day.

These sessions addressed such topics as safe sex, healthy relationships, healthy lifestyles, conflict resolution, establishing self-esteem, and positive identities.

Approximately 615 AGHS students participated in these sessions. AUA facilitators utilized role-playing, small group discussions, question and answer, resource handouts, and artistic activities to create a positive and fun learning environment.

In response to positive feedback, AGHS and AUA hope to collaborate on another Girls’ Day in September 2013.
