Continuing with its effort to assist the Antiguan community, the students of American University of Antigua (AUA) College of Medicine 21, made a charitable donation to the Sunshine Home for Girls.

The donation was presented by Adam Isacoff, President of the Student Government Association (SGA), who explained that the money was raised over a year through various activities. Some of the activities included two basketball tournaments as well as a spelling bee, and these events were coordinated by various groups within the student body, particularly the SGA, the America Medical Students Association (AMSA) and the fourth-semester students.

In accepting the check on behalf of the Home, Major Carmen Mott expressed her delight and heartfelt gratitude for the timely donation and noted that it was indeed an honor to have been considered. This was the second time in recent weeks that AUA has reached out to the Sunshine Home for Girls. Themedical students previously sponsored a beach outing for the girls where, among other activities, they were treated to lunch and a boat trip.

Each semester, the AUA students decide on a local charity and organize activities to raise funds and provide assistance. The students are now looking forward to undertaking their next project.
