Dr. Sonya Ford was recently elected to serve on the Board of AUCCCD, or the Association for University and College Counseling Center Directors, along with her esteemed colleagues from various universities. AUCCCD is an international organization that represents counseling center directors and the work of counseling centers to make a difference in the lives of the students served.

A member of the AUCCCD since 2022, Dr. Sonya Ford is an author, professor, counselor, and a blogger – advocating for the mental health and school counseling professions. She provides inspirational messages to all, and has spent her career encouraging students to reach their fullest potential!

Dr. Ford earned her undergraduate degree from Old Dominion University in psychology, Master of Science degree from The Johns Hopkins University in school counseling, and a Doctor of Education from the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University in counseling psychology. She holds two Certifications in Advanced Graduate Studies from The Johns Hopkins University in Clinical Community Counseling and Teaching in Higher Education. Dr. Ford is also a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), National Certified School Counselor (NCSC), and a Board Certified Tele-Mental-Health Counselor (BC-TMH).
