White Coat Ceremony
by Melanie Chan, Class of 2014
Not too long ago, AUA hosted our class’ white coat ceremony! It felt great to have a celebration commemorating the time we spent working so hard to finish our Preclinical Sciences. It was especially nice for some students to be able to celebrate it with their loved ones in the audience.

Our class’ white coat committee really outdid itself this year with their attention to the decorum. The entire ceremony went off without a hitch. The food was incredible, especially the chocolate fondue!
The ceremony was filled with humorous and heartfelt speeches from the students and the keynote speaker, Dr. Ravi Ramaswami. I appreciated the fact that the students who worked as teaching assistants and facilitated study group leaders were recognized during the ceremony.
The ceremony marks the halfway point towards getting our medical degree. I am looking forward to continuing our medical school journey with rotations in the States!
