The UCC Receives Full International Accreditation through the IACS
The University Counseling Center (UCC) at American University of Antigua (AUA) has received full international accreditation by the International Accreditation of Counseling Services (IACS), the premier leader in setting the benchmark for the full range of professional counseling services on college and university campuses worldwide.
“We are extremely excited to add American University of Antigua College of Medicine to our roster of accredited counseling centers,” said Annie Patterson, executive director of IACS. “The University Counseling Center provides excellent mental health services to their student body. This is evidenced by findings from multiple peer-reviews during the accreditation process, indicating the Center meets a very high benchmark of industry standards for college mental health,” she said. “They are commended for their commitment and service to student mental health.”

IACS’ rigorous accreditation process involves detailed documentation, a comprehensive site visit evaluation, and multiple peer reviews in five areas: relationships within the college/university community, counseling and clinical services, ethical standards, personnel, and resources/infrastructure.
The UCC was evaluated by IACS and was found to offer competent and reliable professional services to its clientele. Approval by IACS is also dependent upon evidence of continuing professional development as well as demonstration of excellence of counseling performance.
