American University of Antigua (AUA) is proud to announce the addition of six core rotation spots in psychiatry at Lincoln Regional Center (LRC) in Nebraska. Initial rotations will begin at the end of January. The Center is a 250 bed, Joint Commission-accredited state psychiatric hospital, and is operated by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.

Bill Gibson is the CEO of the Center. Dr. Vijay Dewan, Medical Director at Lincoln Regional Center, stated, “Lincoln Regional Center is the flagship psychiatric state government hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska providing comprehensive care to mentally ill patients. A number of psychiatrists, psychologists, and various other professionals develop and implement treatment plans for complex treatment issues. Family medical residents, nursing students and other disciplines rotate at the center for clinical experience.”

AUA’s Clinical Chair of Psychiatry, Dr. Phillip Isenberg, was instrumental in obtaining these additional rotations. As a graduate of Harvard Medical School and former editorial board member of the American Journal of Psychiatry, Dr. Isenberg commented, “The faculty [at LRC] is eager to teach and include our students in their ongoing teaching program for medical students. We look forward to an active and beneficial affiliation with their hospital and staff.”
