American University of Antigua (AUA) College of Medicine students, faculty, and staff can now receive medical attention on campus at the AUA Clinic. The clinic, located in Quad C, demonstrates the institution’s commitment to the welfare of the AUA community by providing convenient access to medical care.

Family practitioner, Dr. Kim Mallin, and general practitioner, Dr.  Courtney Lewis, will provide medical services and receive support from a registered nurse and an administrative assistant. While walk-in patients are accepted, appointments are preferred Monday to Friday between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM.

According to both Dr. Mallin and Dr. Lewis, the AUA Clinic will not only make quality medical attention more easily accessible to the relatively large AUA community, but it will also simplify the process of paying for services. Unlike most local medical healthcare facilities, the clinic accepts US-based health insurance coverage from United Health Care and Cigna, as well as local provider Sagicor Life. The opening of the clinic is also a response to the lack of urgent care facilities in the surrounding communities. As such, it is equipped to handle medical emergencies and stabilize patients prior to being transferred to a larger facility, should the need arise.

Services provided by the AUA Clinic include, but are not limited to routine medical care, vaccinations, blood and urine tests, medication, screenings, and electrocardiograms.
