Dr. Ganjam received both his B.S. and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees from India. He received the M.S. degree in 1965 from Washington State University, and the Ph.D. degree from Oklahoma State University (1969). He completed his Postdoctoral Fellowship in Endocrinology at McGill University, Canada (1969-71). He joined the Faculty of the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia in 1971. He was both tenured as well as conferred Magistri Artivm (Honoris Causa; Penn) in 1976. Following which, he served as Professor and Director of Endocrine Services at Auburn University, AL (1978-1981). Since 1981, he has been a Faculty Member of the Department of Biomedical Sciences, at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He has received Gold Chalk Award for outstanding teaching in 1989. He has contributed to more than 140 refereed publications in the field of Endocrinology. He is recognized both nationally and internationally as a reproductive endocrinologist especially, for his elegant work in steroid hormone biochemistry. He has been very successful with extramural funding: having received substantial research funding from NIH, NSF, NASA and USDA agencies.
