Student Organizations

There are a number of student organizations dedicated to philanthropy, student support and community building.

In addition, several student-run intramural athletic organizations hold regular events and tournaments; see below. For more details on specific organizations or events, please contact the Associate Dean of Students or an AUA SGA representative.

STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION (SGA)

Student Government Association (SGA) officials are elected by student body and represent students in various capacities and venues. They also plan student events, celebrations and other student-related activities.

THE AMBASSADORS

Ambassadors seek to serve as the public face of the student body at AUA, providing guidance to their peers and promoting a positive student culture at all times.

AMERICAN MEDICAL STUDENT ASSOCIATION (AMSA) 

The American Medical Student Association (AMSA) is a national student-governed body that is committed to representing the concerns of physicians-in-training and improving medical training and the nation’s health. 

CATHOLIC MEDICAL STUDENT ASSOCIATION (CMSA)

The Catholic Medical Student Association (CMSA) is an organization interested in integrating medical education, faith and ethics.

EMERGENCY MEDICINE INTEREST GROUP

The Emergency Medicine Interest Group (EMIG) informs and unites students with an interest in pursuing emergency medicine or trauma surgery as a specialty.

PHI DELTA EPSILON FRATERNITY

AUA students are very active in Phi Delta Epsilon, the world's only international medical fraternity.

INDIAN STUDENTS ASSOCIATION

The Indian Students Association is a nonprofit socio-cultural organization that promotes Indian culture and diversity inside and outside of AUA.

AUA PULSE NEWS

AUA Pulse News is the official school newsletter run by the students, for the students.

DOCTORS FOR CHRIST

Doctors for Christ’s purpose is to bring students together and understand their relationship with God and the people they interact with on a daily basis.

MUSLIM STUDENT ASSOCIATION

Muslim Student Association’s purpose is to provide a forum for Muslim students and assist them in practicing the teachings of Islam.

SIKH STUDENT ASSOCIATION

The Sikh Student Association strives to support Sikhs on campus and educate others about the religion.

INTRAMURAL SPORTS

Soccer:

Games are scheduled every Saturday morning. Tournaments occur periodically; please inquire with organizers on the island.

Basketball:

Dedicated courts are available for pick-up games. Tournaments occur periodically; please inquire with organizers on the island.

Cricket:

Games are scheduled every Saturday afternoon and evening.

Flag Football:

Games are scheduled every Saturday evening.

Tennis:

Faculty and local tennis pros lead instructional clinics for both novice players and advanced aficionados.
