The American University of Antigua’s (AUA) relationship with Manipal University in India continues to produce many benefits for students and faculty alike. On March 30, 2009, the Times of India’s educational supplement, the Education Times, ranked Manipal University as the number one private medical university out of 150 private schools, and number two out of all the 256 medical universities in India.
Manipal continues to lend its reputation and vast resources to AUA. Our students can profit from our close relationship with Manipal University by taking advantage of the unique "twinning” program", in which students take their basic science courses at the Kasturba Medical College – International Center (KMCIC) in Manipal.
Students from over 40 countries attend KMC and their degrees are recognized worldwide. Their professors and education are unparalleled, and they are consistently regarded as a leader in medical education. Their affiliation with AUA only furthers our mission to counter the oncoming physician shortage by training talented and capable doctors who are able to adapt to the ever-changing medical landscape. AUA’s affiliates are among the best institutions in the world and our strength and position in the field of healthcare education continues to progress.
