Loans
AUA students are eligible to apply for private educational loans.
U.S. citizens and permanent residents are eligible to apply for loans with or without a co-signer, as long as they are creditworthy. AUA strongly recommends applying with a co-signer, as this may allow applicants to secure a lower interest rate. International students may apply for a loan with a creditworthy U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
Students are advised to review their credit and credit scores from all three credit bureaus to know and understand their credit rating before making an application for a loan. You can request a free copy of your credit report at www.myfico.com.
For more information about our private education loan you can email the Student Financial Services department at studentfinancialservices@auamed.org
Before receiving a student loan; borrowers are required to complete a student loan entrance counseling interview.
This quick and easy interactive counseling session provides useful tips and tools to help you develop a budget for managing your educational expenses. It also helps you understand your loan responsibilities when you enter repayment.
Pursuing your education is a major investment in your future. If you decide to make school loans a part of this investment, managing the debt you incur is an important part of planning for your future.
To ensure that you understand your responsibility and the obligation you are assuming, AUA requires you to participate in a Private Education loan. You can access our entrance counseling tutorial and quiz through our financial literacy portal at AUA Financial Literacy Portal.
