Dr. Pathan, professionally qualified as a librarian in 1966, has worked as a Medical Librarian for major medical schools and hospitals in the U.S. and abroad since 1972. He was the first recipient of the Eileen Cunningham International Fellowship of the Medical Library Association, Chicago in 1971, while he was working at St. John's Medical College, Bangalore. Dr. Pathan received Bachelors' degrees in Arts; a Bachelor’s degree in Library Science from Karnataka University, Dharwad, India, and a Master's degree in Health Sciences Librarianship from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. He received a Doctorate in Library and Information Sciences from Karnataka University, Dharwad, India. He has extensive experience with the establishment of state-of-the-art medical libraries and learning resource centers and their management.
He has published several papers in peer-reviewed journals and has edited numerous multiple-choice USMLE -type questions for Basic Science courses while working at Medical school. He has been appointed as an adjudicator for Ph.
