Neal Simon is the President and one of the principal founders of American University of Antigua College of Medicine. His career encompasses many years in Medical Education administration. He is the former President of Ross University College of Medicine and School of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to his career in graduate education, Mr. Simon was Assistant Counsel at the New York State Department of Education. He also worked in private legal practice, specializing in medical licensure. He has been a professor of Medical Jurisprudence to medical students and residents. He served on numerous state committees where he evaluated medical schools and introduced regulations governing the licensure of medical schools. He also served on the State Board of Independent Colleges and Universities. He was a consultant to the Medical Board of Dominica and an honorary counsel to the country of Dominica. Mr. Simon received his BS/MA from American University and his JD from New York Law, where he made the Law Review. Mr. Simon and the founding group of physicians and medical education professionals created this educational institution in Antigua with a mission: to provide a superior medical education to students committed to the highest standard of learning. Mr. Simon and AUA are committed to graduating skilled, ethical and caring physicians and dedicated to breaking down the barriers that have prevented underrepresented minorities from obtaining a medical education in the United States and subsequent licensure.

Seymour Schwartz is the Provost and Professor of Surgery. He served as the Chair of the University of Rochester School of Medicine Department of Surgery. He has received an appointment as Distinguished Alumni Professor from the University of Rochester, School of Medicine. Dr. Schwartz has published extensively. However, he is probably best known for his text book, Principles of Surgery, which is considered by many as the definitive text book on the practice of surgery, and which is used in almost every United States medical school. In addition, Dr. Schwartz has authored close to a dozen other text books that are used in medical schools across the United States. He has published more than fifty individual chapters of various text books, over 200 articles, and continues to lecture extensively at medical schools throughout the United States and the world.

Dr. Nagra is the Executive Dean of Basic Sciences - Antigua Campus & Vice President for Academic Affairs at AUA. He received his professional qualifications - MBBS, diploma in public health and MD in preventive and social medicine from the Armed Forces Medical College, University of Pune, India. He served the Indian Army and Navy as a specialist in Community Medicine for 28 years. He opted for a premature retirement at the rank of Surgeon Captain. His meritorious services were recognized by the Chief of Naval Staff and he was appointed as Director Health Services of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India for a five-year term. He oversaw the provision of comprehensive healthcare to a population of 350,000 dispersed over 21 islands, in the vast waters of the Bay of Bengal, through a network of 120 health institutions that he helped develop. This contribution was honored by the President of India with the Vishisht Sewa Medal. 

Dr. Nagra joined the Manipal Group in 1995 after taking a premature retirement from the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune. He was the foundind Dean and Director of Manipal College of Medical Sciences, Nepal. In a span of 8 years, the college and its associated Manipal Teaching Hospital were recognized as centers of excellence in the region. At the same time, he helped Kathmandu University in establishing the Faculty of Medicine as member of the University Senate, Academic Council and Faculty Board. 

The experience and expertise that Dr. Nagra acquired in healthcare and medical education make him capable of succeeding at both his administrative and academic responsibilities. From Nepal, he moved to Malaysia as Dean, Melaka-Manipal Medical College. He was concurrently appointed Pro Vice Chancellor, Manipal University, India. Thereafter he served as Principal Officer for the Manipal Group's International Campus Operations and Chief Executive, Manipal Health Systems.

A board-certified anesthesiologist, Dr. Bell received his M.D. degree and his doctorate from the J .W. Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany. He spent nine years in the German navy as a medical officer; during that time he was trained as a naval flight surgeon at the U.S. Naval Aerospace Medical Institute in Pensacola, Florida.

Dr. Bell served as deputy medical director of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine at Ostseeklink Damp and completed numerous national and international rescue missions as emergency physician of the German Air Rescue.

Prior to his assignment at American University of Antigua he chaired the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine at Holberton Hospital, St. John's, Antigua. Dr. Bell served as Vice President for Academic Affairs and Executive Dean Antigua Campus for AUA from 2005 through 2009.

I have been an admissions professional since 1983, and a specialist in international medical admissions since 2002. I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree from Boston College, Chestnut Hill, MA.

I live in Orlando, Florida, with my wife of 22 years, Kimberly, and my fifteen-year old daughter.

We enjoy all of the great weather and activities that Central Florida has to offer, and we have visited most of the major National Parks and several European countries.  I enjoy following politics and other current events, walking and following the fortunes of my favorite team, the Boston Red Sox!

I have been involved in the admissions process for over fifteen years and, at AUA, also function as the Alumni Relations Director.  I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree at Queens College.   I have been with AUA since February, 2004 when we ushered in the first class.  I consider myself to be so fortunate to have spoken with our students when they first enrolled and see them graduate and begin their residencies.  I cannot think of anything better than to be involved with students on both ends.  I have always enjoyed speaking with prospective students about their aspirations, and aiding them as they consider our program.  I truly love what I do.  

I enjoy being at home and traveling with my wife.  We enjoy exploring ethnic restaurants and all of the diversity that New York City has to offer as well as hiking and enjoying the outdoors.

I have been with AUA College of Medicine since 2006. Prior to AUA I was a case manager for a Mental Healthcare agency for three years before making the switch to higher education. I enjoy working in this dynamic field where I am able to help students  pursue their dreams of becoming physicians. The position allows me to travel throughout the U.S., meeting new and interesting people every day. I have a BA in Art Therapy and more recently completed my Master’s in School Counseling where I am now certified in NY state.

I have been helping students along their career path for ten years, most recently joining the American University of Antigua Admissions team in 2008 as an Associate Director of Admissions. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from the College of Wooster in Communication Studies and am currently pursuing a Masters of Business Administration from Plymouth State University. I am familiar with the hard work and dedication it takes to achieve a graduate degree and manage all the other aspects of life.

Representing AUA in the Midwest Region has been a rewarding experience. I enjoy meeting potential students from around the world that are attending colleges and universities here, with a common goal of becoming a doctor.

Growing up in Sandusky, Ohio and enjoying outdoor activities on Lake Erie, boating became my hobby. As a current member and past president of the Wooster Ohio Exchange Club, I contribute to a community service organization that focuses on making the community a better place to live through programs in Americanism, community service and youth activities.  I currently reside in Poland, Ohio with my wife where together we enjoy traveling and the outdoors with our two sons.

I’ve been a member of the AUA admissions team since 2009, having worked as an admissions officer for eight years prior.  I have earned a BS in Business from Keene State College in 2000 and an MBA from Plymouth State University in 2010.

I am privileged to represent AUA at colleges and universities all over the New England States, as well as managing student enrollment for our MHA and MPA affiliate schools, and I’m a frequent responder to the AUA Student Facebook page.

I’m always on the lookout for a great adventure professionally and personally.  I’ve run marathons, jumped out of airplanes and on my next trip to Antigua I plan to zip line through the rain forest. I married my husband, Eric in a baseball stadium and our greatest adventure has been parenting our two-year old daughter together.

I’m passionate about the AUA mission to alleviate the shortage of physicians in the U.S, and I look forward to meeting you and assisting you in achieving your dream.

I have always believed that education is one of the greatest achievements any one of us can accomplish. The more knowledgeable we are, the better equipped we will be to face the countless challenges life throws our way. This is why I have been involved in the educational field since my college years. I started by counseling and guiding low-income families helping their high-school students gain admissions into some of the best universities in Chicago. I graduated from the University of Illinois with a B.A. and I am currently pursuing an MBA. I have over eleven years of experience working as a professional in the field of university admissions. I started with AUA in early 2009 and thoroughly enjoy counseling applicants through the medical school application process. 

Most of my free time is spent with my beautiful wife and two young kids. If I am not with them, you will find me playing or watching soccer. I also enjoy politics, reading, building model airplanes and volunteering at my local church.

I joined AUA in August 2009 and have greatly enjoyed my experience with the university.  I graduated from Elmira College in upstate New York in 2009 and spent four years there as an admissions liaison.  This certainly helped pave the way to a career with the American University of Antigua.  With a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and physician shadowing/volunteering under belt, I am fully aware of what is expected of pre-medical students.  It is a long and arduous road; however, I am here to help out as much as possible.

I live on eastern Long Island and responsible for traveling to the various colleges throughout the state.  I enjoy holding presentations, conducting interviews, and meeting with the many pre-health advisors in New York.  This is a large state and it keeps me occupied for much of the fall and spring months.  Finally, I am privileged to initiate articulation agreements with local universities as well as host faculty advisor trips to Antigua.

I am an avid follower (and former player) of lacrosse and soccer.  You will most likely catch me at the United States – Antigua World Cup qualifying matches later this summer and fall.  I certainly enjoy traveling and have studied abroad in five countries, most notably living in France for a year.  Learning to snowboard in the alps was certainly a treat.  I have been to Antigua numerous times, for both business and vacation, and always have a great experience there.  It is a wonderful island to visit and of course to attend medical school.

I’m a Caribbean native,  grew up in South Florida, and have been a resident of perpetually sunny San Diego, CA for the past 4 years. ( Aside from college, I obviously love the ocean.) In addition to spending time with my wife and our 5 month old son,  I enjoy socc… (sorry) FOOTBALL, both FIFA and the odd American game played in the NFL. I also enjoy auto racing, basketball, and most Olympic sports. I’m a health and  fitness buff,  and enjoy a number of outdoor activities, preferably anything on or near the water.

My passion is higher education and have worked within the field for my whole professional career; including academic outreach for the University of California system, housing, judicial affairs, and student leadership. I love to travel which makes this job twice as fun. I joined AUA in January of 2012. I began my journey in education in 2002, when I took my first position in higher education. It was through this position that my career in Higher Education began and I found my passion for serving others through assisting students in their pursuit of obtaining a quality education.  Before joining the AUA family I served as the Director of Continuing Education for Saint Leo University.  

Every day I have the privilege of assisting students on an educational journey that leads to the achievement of their dream of becoming a physician. There is nothing like the feeling that you get when you attend graduation each year and see all the students that you have worked with walk across the stage and receive their degree.  I am honored to play a small part in helping to transform lives; just as these soon to be physicians will transform the lives those that they serve.  It is a truly humbling experience and I am privileged to be a part of this educational journey.

I have been at AUA for over 5 years, interviewing students and helping them make the exciting transition to medical school, and of course, Antigua. I hold a Master of Arts Degree in Educational Psychology.  What I enjoy most about my role at AUA, is having the opportunity to meet students from all walks of life, and learn about their unique stories and experiences that have led them to pursue the challenging, yet very rewarding field of medicine.

Although I am originally from New York, I have lived in New Jersey for the past 8 years.  I feel fortunate to have “the best of both worlds”, as I can enjoy all of the great things that New York City has to offer, along with the tranquility of small town living. Little did I know when I completed my Bachelors in Arts and Education, I would be helping students make their decision in pursuing medical education. After I augmented my Bachelor degree with an MBA in Human Resources and Marketing Management, I joined the Manipal Group, the largest private education and healthcare institution in India with presence in several countries, beginning my sojourn into the education services. I joined the AUA admission team in the fall of 2011. My experience in many cultural settings helps me bring students closer to their dreams.

I relate to Forest Witcraft’s poem “One Hundred Years from Now” and firmly believe that I have been chosen to be an important step in a student’s pursuit of medical education by recommending prospective and deserving students and see them realize their dream of becoming a physician.
