Professor, Food and Small Animal Nutrition
Mr. Joseph graduated from the Regional Educational Programme for Animal Health Assistants (REPAHA) in 1980 with a diploma in Animal Health and Veterinary Public Health. In 1985, he gained a further diploma in Poultry Husbandry and Feed Milling Technology from Barneveld College in the Netherlands. In 1992, he graduated with a Master of Science (MSc) in Animal and Forage Science, from the University of Reading in England. In 1998, Mr. Joseph presented a research paper on live weight gain in sheep at the World Animal Production Conference in Seoul, South Korea. He still continues to do research in Animal Production from time to time. Mr. Joseph has been a Livestock Officer with the Veterinary & Livestock Division, Ministry of Agriculture for seventeen (17 years). He has also been the officer in charge of the Division for the past two and a half years. Most recently, he acted as Deputy Director of Agriculture for one month. Mr. Astley Joseph has participated in many regional and international workshops in various areas such as Animal Production and the Sanitary and Phytosanitary Agreement.
